Pow Wow 2008 (Theme: Let It Flow - Scripture: John 7:38)

Well Pow Wow has started and we are having an awesome time. It got a little hot on Friday, but we made it through with a little help from the snow cone stand. Saturday is looking to be another one. We are going to try and upload pictures through out day. To check out our pictures take a look at the Pow Wow page.

Seek and Save

Have you heard the latest changes regarding Royal Rangers? Commander Doug discussed these changes which are going to be taking place in this awesome ministry during Nation Council in March. If you haven't read the changes for yourself you are really short selling your leaders, your boys, and yourself. Check out the exciting changes to Royal Rangers which will better equip us and makes this ministry relevant to the iPod Generation. All of these changes are included in the Seek and Save document on the National website. Commander Doug has asked us as Commanders to visit the QLC (Question, Learn, Change) section of the National website and give them our feedback. He has also asked us to only visit the QLC section after we have read the Seek and Save vision Articles.

GMA Association Information

The first annual GMA Association meeting will be held during Pow-wow.  We would like for all GMA's (men and boys) to attend.  We will meet at Camp Adventure in the Eubanks Activity Center at 1:00 pm June 7th for about an hour.

Some areas of discussion will include: GMA Association Bylaws, annual meetings, annual banquet, recommendations for future Pow Wow theme, recommendation for future Pow Wow patches and products to be sold, attending & helping with GMA church services, and other volunteer service for GMA’s.

Camp Adventure Care-taker Trailer

Commanders,

As we continue to improve camp adventure , it is necessary we provide some type of security for our investment. Marvin has talked to the District and we have been approved to raise funds to obtain a mobil home for a future care taker.

The mobil home would be placed near the gate and would be used by the caretaker when that person is selected. Currently the District Commander is the acting caretaker and would stay there when he is working on the various projects at Camp Adventure. Also his spending the night on the grounds would not disrupt renting the Eubanks Activity Center for other groups.

We would like a 14X70 (at least), 2 bedroom and two bathrooms, all electric mobil home. We need something that is livable with minimum repairs. If you know of where we can get one donated or at a reasonable price please contact the District Commander with details.

If someone wanted to donate the mobil home they would receive a tax credit letter from the District. Or if someone would like to purchase a mobil home and place it on the property that would also be tax deductable.

Please pray with me about this need, we have the greatest camp going in this region and its because of the interest and hard work of the local commanders and churches.

Thanks Commanders for your support.
David Wiggins,
District Deputy Commander
