ROYAL RANGERS ALUMNI

 

Royal Rangers Alumni" (or "RRA"). RRA exists for the purpose of fellowship with former or retired Royal Rangers leaders so that they may continue their involvement in the ministry. Leaders who reach the age of retirement often undergo medical trials or face other difficulties.

 

They can easily begin to feel unneeded by the Royal Rangers ministry. The truth is they have a wealth of knowledge and experience. Many former Royal Ranger leaders are willing and able to serve on a limited basis. RRA provides the means whereby these leaders can remain active within their own time and physical constraints, Their continued ministry is a great asset to Royal Rangers and provides each individual much needed fellowship, prayer, and support. The RRA also serves as benovelance outreach ministry to those in need with the first priority going to our church family and local community. 

 

OBJECTIVES

The specific objectives of RRA is to provide its members with:

 

1.      Fellowship with current and former Royal Rangers leaders.

2.      RRA should also be a benevolance ministry to those in need

2.  Service involvement as their time, health, and schedule allows.

3.  Oopportunities to serve as a resource person within their outpost, section or district.

4.  Periodic information from the district and national office on the progress of Royal Rangers around the nation and the world.

5.  Personal ministry during times of need.

6.  Opportunities to mentor Royal Rangers leaders with support and prayer.

 

AMMENABILITY OF THE District ROYAL RANGERS ALUMNI

 

RRA is a ministry of the national Royal Rangers office and is managed by the District Director within the respective district. It is accountable to the Royal Ranger District Director.

 

THE District RRA COMMITTEE

 

The District RRA Committee will consist of the following members:

1.  District Royal Rangers Director (ex-officioo chairman)

2.  District president, who will preside over all regular meetings and handle routine operations

3.  District Vice-President

4.  District Secretary.


Leadership

 

Leadership for the District RRA Committee will be selected in the following manner:

 

1. The District Royal Rangers Commander will serve by virtue of office

2. The President, Vice-President, and Secretary will be appointed by the District Royal Rangers Director. In consultation with the Royal Ranger District Executive staff.

 

 

District Duties

 

The duties of the District RRA Committee:

 

1.  Provide guidance and encourage members to participate at their discretion

2.  Provide assistance and training to the Sectional Representatives; and,

3.  Provide activities and service opportunities for the membership.

4. Present new ideas on activities, projects and service /fellowship opportunities of interest to the RRA membership within the district;

5.  Assist and advice sections in the program development and membership growth of RRA

6.  Meet at least annually with the District Execuitive staff

7.  Develop RRA newsletters to be posted on the District website

8.  Have periodic fellowship lunchon for RRA members, pastors and potental members



Term of Duty

 

Members appointed to the District RRA Committee will serve a term of two years and may serve successive terms if reappointed.  The district RRA Committee will meet at District Execuitive staff meetings.  Meetings location and date(s) to be anounced.                                              

 

Disqualification

 

 Members of the committee may be disqualified from service for:

1. Unscriptural conduct

2. Doctrinal departure from the statements of faith of the Assemblies of God

3. Incompetence in office

4. Uncooperative spirit

5. For any good and sufficient cause.

DISTRICT RRA PRESIDENT

Each district appoints a District RRA President who is a member of the district staff. Their responsibilities include:

 

1. Identify former Royal Rangers leaders and keep them abreast of activities and service opportunities within the district. Use all available means ­newsletters, personal correspondence, calls and visits.

2. Become acquainted with leaders approaching retirement and encourage them to become RRA members.

3.  Seek out ways to become involved in benevolance ministries within in the district

4.  Encourage membership 

 

 

MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS

 

National Membership: Districts have option of utilizeing the national membership process. (Reference the web page for application form).  If a leader chooses the national membership option, they must complete the application form; the requestor signs the form; obtain pastors signature and the district commander or the district RRA presidents signature. 

 

The application and money is sent to the national RRA office (address listed on the form). 

Once the application is received, the RRA member will receive a national certificate.

 

The information listed on the application form will be maintained in a national data base

and will be available to district commanders and /or RRA presidents only. Periodic update information will be sent to each RRA member via email.

 

The information on the application form will also be used to identify skill sets and or RRA members who may be willing to assist at national events like Camporama. 

 

District Membership:

The district may elect to establish it’s own membership requirements and charge a lifetime membership fee. Districts will also recognize RRA members by presenting them a district RRA certificate.

 

The application and money is sent to the District Director (address listed on the form).  Once the application is received, the RRA member will receive a district certificate, letter of membership, and options for purchasing the RRA a polo shirt or RRA cap will provided.

 

The information listed on the application form will be maintained in a district data base

and will be available to the district commanders and /or RRA presidents only. Periodic update information will be sent to each RRA member via email.

 

Assosicate Membership:

Is for those persons who have (non RR leaders) assisted the Royal Ranger ministry through their finicial and labor support.  Assosicate membership application is reviewed by the RRA committee and their recommendation along with documentation will be presented to the District Commander for approval.  Assosicate membership is required to meet the same membership requirements as a RRA member with the exception of not having to be a Royal Ranger leader or commander.

 

 

RRA Polo shirts, caps and RRA patches are available from the  District RRA president. The district may use the RRA logo to design t-shirts, coffee mugs, and other promotional items to support the district RRA ministry.

 

 

 

 

SERVICE

 

Although the RRA is a fellowship of former leaders we have listed some  service opportunities that a member may assist the district.   Listed below are just a few ideas for RRA involement.  There are many other options available and information will be provided by the District RRA President.

 

1.  Operate concession stands at district events

2.  Assist with grass cutting and other pre-camp events

3.  Provide maintenance on buildings and grounds at the district camp

4.  Serve as altar workers at camps and events

5. Share a special skill they have with leaders and boys

6.  Participate as guests at Gold Medal of Achievement ceremonies and similar events

7.  Provide assistance at Convoy of Hope activities

8.  Respond after emergencies with clean up, reconstruction, or support, as needed

 

RRA  MEMBERSHIP  REQUIREMENTS

 

1.       The following will be required for members in the Royal Rangers Alumni:

2.       Be at least 55 years of age.

3.       Medically disabled from carrying out the duties of a Royal Rangers leader.

4.       Applicants who do not meet age requirements may be considered for membership at the discretion of the District Royal Ranger Director

5.       Be in good standing with his/her church and district

6.       Have served in a Royal Rangers position on a local, sectional, district, or national level (assoicate membership is exempt, see assocate membership listed above).  

4.  RRA members may have "dual membership." That is, leaders who are eligible for RRA membership may also continue to serve in their current position, if they so desire.


UPDATES TO THE OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES

 

Updates to the District Operational Guidelines for Royal Rangers Alumni may be offered at any regular meeting District staff meeting. Notification of requested changes must be sent to the district director 30 days prior to the scheduled meeting.   A majority vote of all members present and ratification by the District Executive Royal Rangers Committee will be required.
